Energy Efficiency of Buildings
With energy prices forecast to rise for the foreseeable future it is critical that all buildings be more energy efficient. Energy efficiency is important not only because of the environmental concerns surrounding energy use, but because among all potential environmental facets of a green building it provides by far the most economic return.
We work with our clients to design energy efficient strategies that includes a wide range of traditional building construction elements, including building envelope design, HVAC systems, lighting, control systems, and so on.
An integral part of our energy performance service is the ability to rate the energy efficiency of a building.We are Florida Certified Building Energy Raters for both Residential and Commercial properties.
The software we utilize to perform the energy calculations is EnergyGuage. EnergyGauge was developed by the Florida Solar Energy Center, a partner in the U.S. Environmental Protection Agency (EPA) Energy StarŪ Homes program, a partner in the U.S. Department of Energy (DOE) Building America program and an active member of RESNET, the national rating industry association.
